Höfdatorg, the second tallest building in Reykjavik, is part of an 84,000 m2 ambitious project located close to the city centre. This mixed-use complex houses offices, service and retail as well as residential facilities. A place where business meets culture and commerce.
The nineteen storey, seventy metre tall tower is one of six buildings in the Höfðatorg project. A complex that is mostly covered with flat glass facades made lively by the irregular rhythm of oblique surfaces. Its elegant, optimistic and radiant architecture counteracts the Icelandic climate. One of the most important tasks for the architect was: how to meet comfort requirements in these weather conditions of extreme wind and low temperatures.
For this project the Clima Canal from Jaga was chosen. Despite its modest size, the Clima Canal is a powerful heating, cooling and ventilation unit all-in-one. Silent and unobtrusive, Clima Canal provides the greatest possible climatic comfort. This high-tech Low-H2O heat exchanger with its thermal activator has been specially developed to deliver record output within super-compact dimensions.
